This year will mark Homecoming‘s ten-year anniversary.
Incidentally, it has now been over ten years since Origins‘s release. Perhaps time could also work magic for Origins, Homecoming, and Shattered Memories. However, Hulett’s tweet brings to mind several movies that failed financially and/or critically at the time of their release but became regarded as classics in time: Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, Heathers, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, etc.

The original Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2 plus Silent Hill: The Room are my Silent Hill jam. I have never been a huge fan of any of these three games. Would one or two decades change some fans’ minds about the quality of the three games?Īnd what of the other two Silent Hill games released under Hulett’s direction, Silent Hill: Origins (2007) and Silent Hill: Homecoming (2008)? How would ten to twenty years treat them? Would ten to twenty years shed a softer light on Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (2009), Silent Hill: Downpour (2012), or Silent Hill: Book of Memories (2012), all of which received mixed reviews upon release?Īnd what about fan reactions?
